What does this indicator measure?
This indicator reports the number of cultural arts teachers that are hired as full-time employees of selected independent school districts within the counties of the Dallas Primary Metropolitan Statistical Area (PMSA). Data for this indicator was obtained via telephone conversations with respective school district officials.
Why is this indicator important?
This indicator is important because the cultural arts are a vital element of a well-rounded elementary and secondary education. Students that have exposure to the cultural arts and are given the opportunity to participate in them are likely to see significant positive impact in their academic success.
The number of full-time cultural arts education teachers is an indicator of the Dallas PMSA’s regional capacity to provide direct access to and participatory opportunity for cultural arts training.
